When keepers noticed Tucker had a misaligned upper tooth that was causing his lower left tusk to put pressure on his upper gum they started the long process of desensitizing him to the sound and feel of the electric grinder that would allow them to trim his tusk and alleviate the problem. After a lot of training sessions to build trust and patience, the goal was accomplished.
