Mix and match parts to create unique drivetrain combinations - just follow a few compatibility rules

Mixing different component groups is often discouraged, but with Microshift's Sword and Advent groups, the cable pull ratios are actually the same. That means you can mix and match parts to create unique drivetrain combinations (as long as you follow a couple of simple compatibility rules). | Microshift

Narrow wide chainrings are not mandatory, but they do work pretty well to keep your chain on in a 1x drivetrain setup. That's why we include them on our Sword and Sword Black 1x cranksets. | Microshift

Derailleur clutch? Yep, but different. Multiple shifting? Sure, but different. Hyperglide cassete? Sort of... The budget friendly #microshift Sword groupset isn't bad at all! | Cycling & Mountain Biking

Shimano has too much control over what bikes can be made. At Microshift, we're changing that.

It can be kind of confusing if you haven't seen it before, but rear derailleur hangers are part of the bike's frame and not part of the rear derailleur. If yours gets damaged, you'll need to repair or replace it depending on the extent of the damage. | Microshift

Do you need a long cage derailleur for a wide range cassette? Spoiler alert: not necessarily. For instance: our Sword 2x gravel group has less cassette range (11-38T), but a longer cage because it needs enough capacity to work with a double chainring. Sword 1x uses a wider cassette range (11-48T) but has medium cage derailleur because it's optimized for a single chainring. Capacity and cassette range are not the same thing! | Microshift

Chain length is super important on modern, wide range rear derailleurs. They have offset guide pulleys, which means that chain length can actually affect whether or not the pulley can clear the cassette. This means lots of old school rules of thumb for sizing chains simply don't work. We publish manuals for all our derailleurs online, and you can save a call to customer service by checking the setup guidelines first. | Microshift
