Amanda Anisimova claimed the biggest title of her career with victory over Jelena Ostapenko at the Qatar Open. The American beat Latvia's former French Open champion 6-4 6-3 at the WTA 1,000 event in Doha. It is Anisimova's first title since January 2022 and caps her impressive return following a mental health break from the sport.

Amanda Anisimova claimed her first WTA 1000 title when she beat Jelena Ostapenko 6-4 6-3 in the final of the Qatar Open on Saturday which will see the American break into the top 20 for the first time in her career.

Jelena Ostapenko ended Iga Swiatek's three-year reign at the Qatar Open in the semifinals Friday. No. 37-ranked Ostapenko won 6-3, 6-1 and improved her record against No. 2 Swiatek to 5-0. The Latvian is the only active player to have faced Swiatek at least twice and kept a winning record.
