The Central Park Conservancy has, for the first time, taken a side in the city’s horse-drawn carriage debate, backing a bill that would ban them from the park.

The park’s stewards say carriages are a public safety risk and harm infrastructure, and are urging the City Council to pass Ryder’s Law.
