The New York Jets are set to part ways with Aaron Rodgers in the near future. Now they could be preparing to replace the former MVP with another veteran quarterback, as ESPN reported Monday that Gang Green and pending free agent Justin Fields could have mutual interest in a 2025 team-up.

They could go the route of a big trade for someone like Matthew Stafford, sign future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers once he is officially no longer a Jet, or keep an in-house option from 2024 - Russell Wilson or Justin Fields.

Aaron Rodgers has played his last game for the New York Jets, but will he continue his career elsewhere? The Jets recently announced their plans to split with Rodgers, who hasn't publicly confirmed whether he intends to play in 2025.

“I hope that’s the only thing that’s déjà vu,” Rodgers answered.

The New York Jets will need a new quarterback. Just based on numbers, a body is needed. The team has confirmed that a split with Aaron Rodgers is coming. There are options on the table for the Jets, even ones that are already in New York.

When the Jets' brass met with Aaron Rodgers, the future Hall of Fame quarterback apparently made an unsuccessful pitch to remain with the team.  Rodgers reportedly pleaded with the Jets to keep him, according to the New York Post.
