The wildfire areas of Manitoba and Saskatchewan are projected to receive 50 millimeters to 100 millimeters of rain this weekend into early next week. That amount of rain converts to two inches to four inches of rain. Two to four inches of rain will do a lot to extinguish a wildfire.

France's largest wildfire for 75 years, which has burned through an area larger than Paris, has slowed overnight but is not yet under control, officials have said.
