It was, as it often is, Josh Hart. He saw the team in a 20-point hole in the third quarter, saw the leprechaun leading cheers around the parquet floor and decided he’d seen enough of the Knicks getting kicked around.

While the Celtics couldn’t buy a bucket in Game 1, their track record of blistering perimeter shooting suggests that a performance like that is less likely to occur again. Knicks’ guard Josh Hart knows that, and doesn’t want to allow them to attempt that many outside shots again.

Brunson had a potential game-winning shot rim out in the final seconds. If it had gone in, New York likely would have claimed a 102-100 win. Instead, it was pushed to overtime where the Knicks would eventually prevail.
