Boeing 787 Dreamliner — with 242 people on board crashed into a medical college complex in the Meghaninagar area moments after taking off from the airport on Thursday afternoon.

A total of 31 DNAs have been identified so far and 12 bodies have been handed over to their respective family members

The London-bound plane struck a medical college hostel in a residential area of the northwestern city of Ahmedabad minutes after takeoff Thursday, killing 241 on board and at least 29 on the ground.

Turkey said its maintenance deal with Air India covers only Boeing 777 aircraft, not the 787-8 model involved in the Ahmedabad crash that killed 270.

All but one of the 242 people on board the London-bound flight died when it crashed into a residential area in Ahmedabad shortly after take-off.
