Remains believed to be those of missing pregnant teen Kylee Monteiro were found at her boyfriend's residence, leading to a murder charge against Gregory Groom.

Gregory Groom, of Rehoboth, confessed to police that he stabbed Kylee Monteiro multiple times with a kitchen knife, according to prosecutors.

The suspect in the murder of 18-year-old Kylee Monteiro faced a judge Wednesday morning where prosecutors recounted Gregory Groom's confession in the incident to Rehoboth police.

Gregory Groom, 22, appeared before a judge in Taunton District Court to answer to charges of murder, aggravated assault and battery on a pregnant person, domestic assault and battery, and intimidation of a witness for acts committed against 18-year-old Kylee Monteiro. A plea of not guilty was entered on his behalf.

The 22-year-old boyfriend of a pregnant teenager who went missing admitted to police that he had gotten physical with her during an argument.

Gregory Groom, 22, was charged with aggravated assault and battery on a pregnant person, domestic assault and battery, and intimidation of a witness “for acts committed against” Kylee Monteiro on Aug. 6, Bristol District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III’s office said.

REHOBOTH, Mass. (WPRI) — The family of a missing 18-year-old woman from Rehoboth is holding a vigil this weekend. Kylee Monteiro’s sister told 12 News they will be gathering at 7 p.m. Saturday near the Gazebo at Redway Plain. The address is 401 Winthrop St., which is off Route 44.
