Google (GOOG) (GOOGL) has lost its appeal in a suit filed by Epic Games, the owner of the popular game Fortnite, upholding a judge's previous ruling that required the tech giant to overhaul its app store policies due to anticompetitive practices.

Not only did the court affirm the original ruling, it also appears to be activating a previously paused permanent injunction that will force Google to make sweeping changes to its Play Store policies.

The court rejected Google’s argument that the trial judge made legal errors in the antitrust case that unfairly favored Epic Games.
