Daniel Day-Lewis has emerged from his retirement in a first-look photo of his new film, Anemone. The project from Focus Features is set to have its world premiere at the The New York Film Festival —which kicks off Sept. 26 and runs through Oct. 13 — and marks the return of the three-time Oscar winner after an eight-year “retirement.”

Daniel Day-Lewis is officially out of retirement after spending eight years away from a film set. The Oscar-winning actor, 68, was seen in character in the first photo from the upcoming film Anemone, which will mark his son Ronan Day-Lewis ' directorial debut. The father-son duo also cowrote the film.
