The Buffalo Sabres made more than just the expected sell-off of expiring contracts on NHL Trade Deadline day, moving out one of their core group in center Dylan Cozens in a deal with the Ottawa Senators.

The Buffalo Sabres announced Friday the trade of center Dylan Cozens, defenseman Dennis Gilbert and a 2026 second-round pick to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for center Josh Norris and defenseman Jacob Bernard-Docker.

In the trade, which has already been made official, Buffalo lands Norris and another former first-round pick in Bernard-Docker. This season, Bernard-Docker hasn't been in the Senators' lineup often, totaling one goal and three assists through 25 games. In 2024-25, he had 14 points in 72 games.
