Jets' owner Woody Johnson, who was instrumental in bringing Rodgers in to town before a long history of feuding with the self-proclaimed "enigma" claims he wasn't behind the decision to led Rodgers become a free agent. Johnson said it was new head coach Aaron Glenn and new general manager Darren Mougey who decided to go a different direction.

There's obviously been a lot of chatter about Aaron Rodgers lately. His future has been up in the air since the New York Jets decided to move on and he hasn't made a public decision yet. He hasn't signed a deal or announced his retirement.

“The experiment was a good experiment, to bring him in, but it just didn't work out, as you can see," Johnson said, per ESPN's Rich Cimini. "I have a lot of respect for Aaron Rodgers. He is a great player, a Hall of Famer player. I'm sorry it didn't work out.”
