On Monday, Vrabel made a number of key hires to add some experience and pedigree to his coaching staff. Former Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone is joining Vrabel's staff, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz. Marrone most recently served as the offensive line coach for the New Orleans Saints in 2023.

The Miami Dolphins will be facing two new head coaches in the AFC East in the 2025 season: the New England Patriots' Mike Vrabel and New York Jets' Aaron Glenn. Interestingly, both coaches are former players for the respective teams that hired them.

Vrabel has a mix of experience and youth on his Patriots coaching staff, including Doug Marrone, Thomas Brown and Ashton Grant on offense.

Since then, New England has brought on several coaches to work under Vrabel in 2025, and they're reportedly adding another, as CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz reported on Wednesday that the Patriots are expected to hire Buffalo Bills nickels coach and senior defensive assistant Scott Booker.

While Mayo was seen as an easy-going, player-friendly coach, Vrabel is viewed as a much harder leader, and it's his personality that's led former Patriots defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel to compare Vrabel to former Patriots head coach and NFL Hall of Famer Bill Parcells.
