India's Telangana state has allowed beer prices to be increased from Tuesday and has directed that all existing stock to be sold at the revised rates, according to a government order. In January, the 'Kingfisher' beer manufacturer halted supply of beer briefly, and resumed following 'constructive' talks with the government, which assured it would address the pricing and dues in a 'time bound manner.

Telangana also started releasing pending dues to United Breweries Limited (UBL), sources said. Telangana is a crucial market for UBL, contributing 15-20% of the company's volume market share, where UBL holds over 60% market dominance.
