A set of videos showing smoke in a flight's cabin and a pilot making a special announcement for his mother has gone viral on social media, where users have incorrectly linked it to the recent Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad.

An Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner operating as Flight AI171 from Ahmedabad to London's Gatwick Airport crashed shortly after takeoff this afternoon, killing all 242 people on board. The aircraft was carrying 232 passengers and 10 crew members.
