SPEEDWAY, Ind. (WEVV) — The 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 has been unveiled as the official pace car for the 109th running of the Indianapolis 500. Known for its remarkable performance, the ZR1 boasts a 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 engine producing over a thousand horsepower, making it the most powerful V8 engine ever produced by a U.S. manufacturer.

With the 109th running of the Indianapolis 500-Mile Race just around the corner, Chevrolet this week presented the pace car for this year's event, the mega 1,064 horsepower 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged dual overhead cam Chevrolet Corvette ZR1.

With “the Greatest Spectacle in Racing" less than a month away, officials at IndyCar have just announced that the 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 will serve as the pace car during the 109th running of the Indianapolis 500. The twin-turbocharged monster will be the 22nd Corvette to have that honor since the nameplate’s debut in 1953.
