The Padres and catcher Elias Díaz are in agreement on a one-year deal, a source told MLB.com’s AJ Cassavell on Tuesday. The club has not confirmed the deal, which is pending a physical. Díaz ended last season with San Diego after being released by the Rockies in August.

Veteran catcher Elias Díaz signed a one-year, $3.5-million contract with the Padres on Tuesday, according to multiple reports. The 34-year-old slashed .265/.313/.382, hit six home runs, and drove in 39 over 96 games split between the Padres and the Colorado Rockies.
