The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) just announced that it is elevating a recent butter recall to the second-highest level because the recalled dairy product may cause “adverse health consequences” if consumed.

Missouri-based food company Bunge North America has recalled 64,800 pounds - the equivalent of 1,800 cases - of its NH European Style Butter Blend due to undeclared milk allergens. According to a public health notice from the FDA, Bunge distributed the butter to 12 centers located across the United States and one in the Dominican Republic.

The FDA 's classification of the Queen Bee Gardens recall as Class II signals a moderate health risk, indicating that use or exposure to the affected products may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences, while the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.
