In August 2025, the first trailer for The Office spinoff arrived, giving fans a glimpse at what they can expect from the new series, which is set in a newspaper office in Toledo, Ohio. The Paper is from Greg Daniels — who adapted the original U.K. version of The Office — and Michael Koman, co-creator of Comedy Central's Nathan For You.

The teaser opens with a message explaining how the upcoming spinoff is connected to the original series. “Several years ago, a documentary crew filmed the story of Dunder Mifflin,” the text reads. “Now they’ve found a new subject.”
