The slumping Giants have traded their longest-tenured player, veteran reliever Tyler Rogers, to the New York Mets a day before the Major League Baseball trade deadline.

Per multiple reports, the return for Rogers will be right-handers Jose Butto and Blake Tidwell, as well as outfielder Drew Gilbert. Butto has pitched over parts of four seasons with the Mets and has a 3.64 ERA this season over 47 innings, while Tidwell and Gilbert are New York’s No. 10 and No. 12 prospects per MLB Pipeline.

Tyler Rogers, who has made more appearances than any other reliever in the majors since 2020, is going from one National League contender to another.
