Southern California was being pounded by a major storm Thursday morning, bringing evacuation warnings and fears of mudslides — and at least one tornado.Officials issued flood and severe thunderstorm warnings for parts of the region Thursday morning as steady rain fell.

Los Angeles County is under an updated winter storm warning which was released by the National Weather Service on Thursday at 4:41 p.m. The warning is in effect until Saturday, Mar. 15 at 5 a.m.

At 2:01 p.m. on Wednesday, the NWS Sacramento CA released an updated winter storm watch valid from Thursday 11 p.m. until Friday 11 p.m. The watch is for Shasta Lake and Mountains Southwestern Shasta County to Western Colusa County as well as Shasta County.
