AHMEDABAD, India (AP) — Authorities have started handing over remains of the victims of one of India’s worst aviation disasters, days after the Air India flight crashed and killed at least 270 people, officials said Sunday.

Ramesh Patel was one of 53 Brits on the Gatwick Airport-bound Air India flight when the aircraft crashed just moments after take-off in Ahmedabad

Air India Flight 171 was “involved in a tragic accident,” the airline’s chairman said. The plane was due to fly from Ahmedabad to London’s Gatwick Airport.
